When a company organizes trips that combine transport, accommodation, or other tourist services, the trip qualifies as a package tour. In that case, the company acts as a tour operator and is responsible for the proper performance of the trip and compliance with consumer protection rules.

The travel organizer must provide timely, complete, and written information on all essential aspects of the trip, so that the traveller can make an informed decision and has clear expectations.

Modification of the trip is permitted solely in exceptional circumstances or where increased costs apply. In such cases, the travel organizer must inform the traveller without delay, after which the traveller may accept or reject the proposal.

Cancellation of the trip by the travel organizer or the traveller is permitted solely in valid or exceptional circumstances. If the cancellation is not attributable to the traveller, the traveller is entitled to a refund or compensation

The travel organizer is required to perform the trip in accordance with the agreement and to resolve problems promptly. If the trip falls short of reasonable expectations, the traveller may be entitled to assistance, support, or compensation.

Liability arises where the trip does not proceed as agreed, unless the failure is caused by force majeure. Force majeure refers to exceptional, unforeseeable circumstances beyond the travel organizer’s control.
