(Senior) Researcher

The position:

• Carries out complex investigative and/or supervisory activities relating to compliance with competition and consumer protection legislation and regulations;
• Identifies, analyses and evaluates relevant developments and assesses their significance for the AFTA’s field of work and strategic research policy;
• Is responsible for drafting decisions, written reports and/or other investigative documents;
• Builds and maintains case files;
• Manages and maintains a digital portal through which consumers can submit reports;
• Translates consumer rights into practical solutions (such as standard letters) enabling consumers to assert their rights;
• Organises information sessions on consumer rights.

Job requirements and competencies:

• University degree (WO level) in law and/or economics;
• At least two years of relevant work experience is an advantage;
• Understanding of financial, economic and legal relationships within a broad context;
• Multidisciplinary orientation and strong analytical skills;
• Acts with integrity, transparency, responsibility and due care in the role of supervisory authority;
• Excellent oral and written communication skills;
• Contributes to a positive working atmosphere and team spirit.
