Collaborations

The Aruba Fair Trade Authority (AFTA) engages in collaboration with national and international supervisory authorities, academic institutions, and other relevant stakeholders in order to carry out its supervisory tasks effectively and efficiently. Collaboration enables the sharing of knowledge, the pooling of expertise, and joined action on (cross-border) issues. By collaborating with partners, AFTA can achieve efficiency gains, including through the exchange of data and the consolidation of expertise, all within the applicable legal frameworks.

International Collaborations

Internationally, AFTA maintains cooperative relationships with, among others, the Fair Trade Authority Curaçao (FTAC) , the Authority for Consumers and Markets (ACM) in the Netherlands, and the Regulatory Authority Curaçao (RAC). In addition, since September 2024 AFTA has been an active member of the International Competition Network (ICN), a worldwide network of competition authorities aimed at strengthening enforcement and policy development. Once the National Ordinance on Administrative Enforcement of Consumer Protection enters into force, AFTA will also join the International Consumer Protection and Enforcement Network (ICPEN).

Some of these cooperation arrangements are laid down in protocols. AFTA currently does not yet have formal cooperation protocols with national supervisory authorities but aims to establish these in the future. Below you will find a list of our cooperation partners.
